if the artist breaches the conditions, the client can discuss a refund.

process and payment

STEP 1: request a commission.

  • to start the commission process, message me directly through instagram, email, or tumblr. you can also ask to talk through another service, like discord.

  • the "form" section of this carrd has links to my contacts, as well as a guideline for all of the information i'll need.

  • please make sure that your request falls under my do's and don'ts. if you're unsure, feel free to ask!

  • i will let you know when i accept or turn down your request. if i do not respond in a timely manner, that probably means i didn't see it, so please follow-up or message me elsewhere!

  • i work on a limited amount of commission slots at a time. if i accept your commission when a slot is open, we will move to the next step immediately.

  • but if my commissions slots are full, you will be moved to a waitlist. we will move to the next step once a slot opens up. if you don't have a deadline, please expect to wait 2-6 weeks for a slot.

STEP 2: approve the sketch.

  • once i've accepted your request, i'll make a rough sketch and send it to you for feedback. this may take ~1-2 weeks.

  • all changes to the sketch are free of charge! please ask for as many revisions as you need so the final product is to your liking!

  • my sketch method changes often, and it may come in grayscale. the colors here will not reflect the look of the final product.

  • we'll move to the payment step once the sketch has been fully approved, and there are no other changes needed.

STEP 3: send over payment.

  • payments are made through paypal or kofi. if neither work, we can discuss an alternative. i will always inform you of the price before any transaction is made.

  • if using paypal, i will send an invoice to the email linked to your account.

  • if using ko-fi, you may send the agreed amount as a donation on my page.

  • you must pay full price before any more progress is made on the artwork. payment plans are only offered to trusted/repeat clients.

  • if i do not receive payment within 30 days at this step, the commission may be cancelled. if there are any technical issues, let me know as soon as possible!

STEP 4: wait for completion!

  • once payment is received, i will work to complete your commission! you can ask for updates and WIPs at any time.

  • you can also keep up-to-date on my commission progress through my public trello board.

  • when your commission is done, it will be sent to you through your choice of messaging. (please note that some platforms lower the image quality, so email or google drive are safer options.)

  • completed commissions may someday be posted to my social media accounts (tumblr, instagram, ko-fi). the work will be watermarked, and you will be tagged/mentioned. if you would like the work to remain private/unposted instead, please let me know as soon as possible!

  • after payment, please allow 2-6 weeks for your commission to be completed. note that i have attention deficits which may affect my speed, but if anything causes the process to exceed 6 weeks, you'll be fully informed. otherwise, your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. ❤︎

  • setting a deadline is entirely optional, but i consider it very helpful. it's best to discuss a deadline as early as possible, but you're also free to set one at any time before the work's completion, as long as it is at least 1 week ahead of asking. you can also pay a rush fee for an even shorter timeframe.

refund and revision policy

  • under normal circumstances, refunds will not be accepted after i have gotten to the lineart/coloring stage of a commission.

  • however, if for any reason i am unable to complete your commission, you may be given a partial or full refund, depending on how much time i have already spent on it. the refund amount will be discussed and agreed upon.

  • the unfinished work can be sent to you, if asked for. in most circumstances, you are allowed to have the work completed by another commissioned artist (not AI). just keep me informed, and credit the completed work to both artists.

  • if i agree to refund you, please do not use paypal to request a chargeback. i will send the amount to you directly.

  • if a completed commission is not to your liking in any way, you can request a revision. small changes are free, but large or complex changes will require an additional fee.

  • if you receive a revision, you can keep and use both versions of the commission, with and without the changes.

  • i have the right to turn down a revision request, especially if it directly contradicts what was initially asked for. (ex. paying for artwork of a dog, then requesting it be altered into a cat.)

vivi's top secret art trade page!!

an art trade is a free exchange between artists, where both parties draw something requested by the other.the rules and terms of an art trade will be discussed personally, and will vary for each artist. but below are some general guidelines and expectations i personally follow.

availability and time:

  • my availability for art trades depends on the amount of free time i have outside of my commissions. the only way to know if art trades are open is to ask me directly.

  • art trades take less priority than paid commissions. the more commissions i am working on, the more time it will take for me to complete an art trade.

  • usually, i don't intend to keep you waiting any longer than one month for my half of the trade, and i will be fully transparent if anything slows me down.

  • this isn't an exact science, but if you complete your half before me and send proof, i usually finish mine even sooner!

  • you can ask for updates and WIPs at any time. i politely ask that i am not rushed to complete my half, especially if you have not completed yours. if i feel unfairly pressured, the trade may be cancelled.

  • all in all, i give my full trust and patience to my fellow artist, and i expect the same towards me.

trade expectations:

  • i expect both ends of the trade to be equal in two factors: content and effort.

  • content may include the number of characters, and how much of the character(s) is drawn. these can be tweaked to prevent an unfair balance of time and work.

  • effort is relative, but it should be clear that you took decent care in drawing your half of the trade. i should not have to suspect that your work was a "rush job".

  • i do not expect both ends of the trade to be equal in skill level or experience. art trades are an opportunity for growth and practice, and they are not contests.

  • i also do not expect both ends of the trade to be equal in coloring/rendering, as they are not indicative of effort.

  • you may suggest specific details, poses, or scenarios for me to draw your character(s) in, but please keep them simple, with room for creative liberties. complex or overly specific requests are reserved for paid commissions only.

  • once both halves of the trade are complete, they should both at least be sent privately over direct message.

  • additionally, the final drawings can also be posted to our respective social media accounts. they are usually posted at around the same time, and usually include mentioning the trade and tagging the other artist.
